~んですんです — explaining / asking why
Explanation んです
んです adds an explanatory nuance — giving or seeking a reason or background.
どうしたんですか。…ちょっと 頭が 痛いんです。
どうしたんですか。…ちょっと あたまが いたいんです。
What's the matter? … My head hurts a bit.
んです (plain: んだ) attaches to the plain form of a verb/adjective (na-adjective and noun add な: 病気なんです). It frames the sentence as an explanation, a reason, or a request for one.
Use it to ask “why / what's going on” (どうして…んですか) or to explain your situation. Overusing んです on neutral statements can sound pushy.

V-て いただけませんかていただけませんか — could you please…?
Request
A very polite request: て-form + いただけませんか.
すみませんが、写真を 撮っていただけませんか。
すみませんが、しゃしんを とっていただけませんか。
Excuse me, could you please take a photo?
More polite than 〜てください. It literally asks “couldn't I receive the favour of your doing…?”, so it is softer and suited to requests of people you don't know well.
3
~んですが、~たらいいですかんですが — leading into a request / question
Advice
〜んですが softly states your situation, then leads into a request or a “what should I do?” question.
さくら大学へ 行きたいんですが、どこで 降りたらいいですか。
さくらだいがくへ いきたいんですが、どこで おりたらいいですか。
I'd like to get to Sakura University — where should I get off?
資料が ほしいんですが、送っていただけませんか。
しりょうが ほしいんですが、おくっていただけませんか。
I'd like the materials — could you send them to me?
んですが (polite: んですが / plain: んだけど) sets up the background, and が here is a soft “and/but” that eases into the main point — a request (…ていただけませんか) or a question.
To ask for advice or instructions, follow it with 〜たらいいですか (“what/where/how should I…?”) or 〜たらいいでしょうか: どうしたらいいですか = “what should I do?”
